ThriftCat™ Catalytic Converters
Unparalleled Cost Reduction in Catalytic Converters
GoNano Technologies’ ThriftCat™ enables a more efficient use of active catalyst than industry standard coated cores. The ThriftCat proprietary process coats the inner walls of the cores with a three dimensional silica Nanospring™ matrix providing 100% accessible surface area for Platinum Group Metals (PGM) support.
The Nanospring material’s attributes result in significantly lower catalyst loading and greater catalyst efficiency. The Nanosprings provide an enormous active surface area which contains no porosity, i.e. an inverse pore structure. Catalytic converters incorporating the ThriftCat technology offer improvements in PGM efficiency, lifetime, and backflow pressure.

Technological Features
GoNano’s Nanospring technology offers distinct advantages for catalytic converters:
- Less PGM – Nanopring structural attributes and coating technologies enable reduced PGM loading
- Prevents PGM sintering – Nanospring surface inhibits sintering of PGM catalysts, thereby increasing catalyst lifetime
- Thermal stability – Nanospring matrix withstands degradation at temperatures up to 1025°C
- Flexibility – Versatile process, compatible with industry standard catalytic converter core sizes and materials
