GoNano Technologies, Inc’s Carbon Capture & Recycle selectively converts CO2 into formic acid, formaldehyde, and/or methanol through a photocatalytic process. These resulting chemicals are important raw materials for a number of industries including the manufacture of plastics and rubber.
Several approaches to stabilize and reduce atmospheric CO2 concentrations have been tested. While underground carbon dioxide storage has been hailed as the most promising approach for sequestering CO2 safely away from the atmosphere, the technology remains unproven, costly, and potentially hazardous.
GoNano Technologies offers an alternative to permanent underground storage by using CO2 as a commodity that can be converted – or more specifically “recycled” – into useful and valuable feedstock chemicals. This approach reduces or eliminates the amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere, and creates a revenue stream to offset the cost of implementation.
